Article 1: General

Business Name: Detection Dog University (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”)
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, programs, courses, challenges, digital products, communities and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or purchasing from Detection Dog University, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Article 1a: Age limit
Age restrictions apply: Detection Dog University does not permit those under 18 to use the Service. We do our best to restrict access to our sites, products and services to minors. Even if the content of our products and services is not of a shocking nature, we prefer to target a mature audience capable of understanding the implications and responsibilities of the business world.
Any subscriber who does not meet these criteria will immediately be deleted from our database as soon as this is brought to our attention. Likewise, any customer who does not meet these criteria will be reimbursed and a return of the product (s) concerned will be required.
Article 2: Eligibility
By using our Services, you confirm that:
You are at least 18 years of age
You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Article 3: Your information
If you wish to place an Order for Products available on the Service, You may be asked to supply certain information relevant to your order including, without limitation, your name, your email, your phone number, your credit card number, the expiration date of your credit card, your billing address, and your shipping information.
You represent and warrant that: (i) You have the legal right to use any credit or debit card(s) or other payment method(s) in connection with any Order; and that (ii) the information You supply to us is true, correct and complete.
By submitting such information, you grant us the right to provide the information to payment processing third parties for purposes of facilitating the completion of your order.
Article 4: Payment
Payment is due immediately on the date of the order, including for pre-order products.
Payment can be made through various payment methods we have available, such as Visa, MasterCard, Affinity Card, American Express cards or online payment methods (PayPal, for example).
Payment cards (credit cards or debit cards) are subject to validation checks and authorization by Your card issuer. If we do not receive the required authorization, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery of your order.
Article 5: Changes to these Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the website and the Service.
Article 6: Nature of Services
Detection Dog University provides educational services and resources related to detection dog training. These Services may include, but are not limited to:
Online courses, challenges, and programs
Downloadable materials, guides, and templates
Access to Communities, forums, and coaching support
By using the Services, you acknowledge that:
The Services are for educational purposes only and are designed to provide guidance, training strategies, and practical instruction;
Participation in the Services does not create a professional-client, trainer-client, employment, partnership, or agency relationship;
The Services are not a substitute for professional consultation or supervision where required;
The success of your training depends on your own skill, consistency, and your dog’s temperament, health, and behaviour.
Article 7: No Professional or Veterinary Advice
The Services provided by Detection Dog University are for educational purposes only and do not constitute professional, veterinary, medical, legal, or behavioural advice.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that:
You are solely responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of yourself, your dog(s), and any participants in training activities;
The information, guidance, and methods provided through programs, courses, challenges, or digital content are general in nature and may not be suitable for your specific circumstances;
You should consult a licensed professional, veterinarian, or qualified expert before implementing any training, medical, or behavioural intervention that could affect your dog’s health, safety, or wellbeing;
Detection Dog University does not assume responsibility for decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from the application of the Services.
You agree that any reliance on the Services is at your own risk, and Detection Dog University expressly disclaims liability for any damages, injury, or loss resulting from the use or misuse of the information provided.
Article 8: No Guarantees of Results
You acknowledge and agree that Detection Dog University makes no guarantees or warranties regarding outcomes from using the Services, including but not limited to:
Training success or dog performance
Behavioural improvements or detection accuracy
Certification, employment, income, or operational results
All Services, including programs, courses, challenges, and digital content, are provided “as is” and “as available”, without any express or implied warranties, including warranties of:
Merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose
Accuracy or completeness of content
Non-infringement
You further acknowledge that results depend on numerous factors outside our control, including but not limited to:
Your skill, experience, and consistency as a handler
Your dog’s temperament, health, and behaviour
Environmental conditions and situational variables
Detection Dog University expressly disclaims all liability for any outcomes, results, or losses arising from your use of the Services.
Article 9: Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge and agree that participation in dog training activities, challenges, or exercises provided through the Services involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Injury to yourself, your dog(s), or others;
Property damage or loss;
Unintended behavioural issues in dogs;
Environmental hazards or unsafe conditions.
By using the Services, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with training activities and the application of information provided by Detection Dog University.
You further agree that:
You are solely responsible for the safety, health, and welfare of your dog(s) and any participants in training exercises;
You will use proper judgment, supervision, and humane practices when applying any training techniques or guidance;
Detection Dog University is not liable for any injury, damage, loss, or incident arising from your use of the Services, whether in person, online, or via digital content;
You release Detection Dog University from any claims related to injuries, damages, or losses resulting from participation in any Services.
This Section survives termination and applies regardless of the nature of your access to the Services.
Article 10: User Responsibilities
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to:
Use the Services lawfully and responsibly, following all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines;
Prioritise the safety and welfare of yourself, your dog(s), and others at all times while applying the information, training techniques, or guidance provided;
Not misuse, share, or distribute any part of the Content in violation of Section 7 (Intellectual Property);
Provide accurate and truthful information when registering for programs, purchasing Services, or participating in Communities;
Avoid giving advice to others that misrepresents Detection Dog University, its programs, or its training methodologies;
Use sound judgment when applying training methods, and discontinue any technique that causes harm, distress, or unsafe situations for dogs, people, or property;
Comply with all Community guidelines if participating in online groups, forums, or social media communities.
Failure to comply with these responsibilities may result in:
Suspension or termination of access;
Removal from Communities or programs;
Legal action to protect the Company, its Content, or other Users.
Article 11: Intellectual Property
All content, materials, and resources provided through the Services, including but not limited to:
Videos, audio recordings, text, graphics, images, documents, and downloadable files
Training methods, course structures, program materials, and challenges
Branding, logos, and trademarks
(collectively, the “Content”) are the exclusive property of Detection Dog University and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
By accessing the Services, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the
Content solely for your personal educational purposes.
You may not:
Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, license, or publicly display the Content;
Share your login credentials or grant access to third parties;
Create derivative works, adaptations, or competing programs using the Content;
Use the Content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
Any unauthorised use of the Content may result in:
Immediate termination of access
Legal action for injunctive relief, damages, and recovery of costs
Reporting to relevant authorities or platforms, including social media or payment providers
This Section survives termination of your access to the Services.
Article 12: Payments and Pricing
All fees for Services provided by Detection Dog University are payable in full unless a specific payment plan is offered and agreed to in writing.
By submitting payment information, you:
Authorise Detection Dog University to charge your chosen payment method for all fees and applicable taxes;
Represent and warrant that you are authorised to use the payment method provided;
Agree that all payment obligations are non-cancelable except as expressly provided in the Refund Policy..
Detection Dog University reserves the right to:
Modify pricing, fees, or payment terms at any time, provided that any changes do not affect Services already purchased;
Suspend or terminate access to Services if payment is declined, fraudulent, or unauthorized;
Charge applicable bank, currency conversion, or processing fees if incurred by your chosen payment method.
All pricing is displayed in USD Currency, unless otherwise stated. Taxes, duties, or other government charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Article 13: Refund Policy
All sales of digital products, courses, challenges, and other Services are final, except where a specific, written refund policy is explicitly provided at the time of purchase.
Where a refund is offered, it will be subject to the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements outlined on the relevant sales page or agreement. Proof of compliance with these conditions may be required to process a refund.
By purchasing any Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
You have reviewed and understood the refund terms applicable to that Service;
You will not attempt to obtain a refund outside of the stated terms;
Refunds will only be issued via the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed in writing;
Any attempt to circumvent the refund policy, including filing unauthorised chargebacks, constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in termination of access and legal action.
Nothing in this section limits rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, including the Australian Consumer Law, where such rights cannot be excluded.
Article 14: Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
You agree that all purchases of Services from Detection Dog University are final, unless otherwise explicitly stated in writing (see Refund Policy).
By purchasing a Service, you agree to resolve any payment-related disputes directly with Detection Dog University prior to initiating a chargeback, reversal, or complaint with your bank or payment provider.
Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting Detection Dog University constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in:
Immediate suspension or termination of your access to all Services, including current and future programs, content, and communities;
Pursuit of all available legal remedies to recover losses, including fees, costs, and damages;
Permanent loss of access to Services, without entitlement to refunds.
Detection Dog University reserves the right to report fraudulent or abusive chargebacks to payment processors and relevant authorities.
This section does not override your rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law.
Article 15: Community Conduct
Certain Services may include access to online communities, forums, or private groups (e.g., social media groups) for participants in programs, courses, or challenges (“Communities”).
By participating in any Community, you agree that you will:
Behave respectfully toward other members and Company representatives;
Not harass, intimidate, or defame any other member, dog, or individual;
Not provide unsafe, unlawful, or harmful training advice;
Not promote, advertise, or sell products or services without prior written permission from Detection Dog University;
Comply with all applicable laws, platform rules, and community guidelines.
Detection Dog University reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
Remove or restrict access to any Community or member who violates these Terms or community rules;
Delete, edit, or remove any posts or content deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or in violation of these Terms;
Take any legal or equitable action necessary to protect its intellectual property, Community integrity, or the safety of members.
Termination or restriction of Community access does not limit other remedies available to Detection Dog University, including legal action or termination of Services under.
Article 16: Third-Party Platforms
Some aspects of the Services may be delivered, hosted, or facilitated through third-party platforms, software, or service providers (“Third-Party Services”), including but not limited to:
Payment processors
Course hosting platforms
Email marketing providers
Social media platforms, including private groups or communities
By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that:
Your use of Third-Party Services is also subject to their own terms, policies, and privacy practices;
Detection Dog University is not responsible or liable for any:
Service outages, errors, interruptions, or data loss
Acts or omissions of third-party platforms
Changes to policies, features, or accessibility of third-party platforms;
Your personal information may be processed, stored, or transmitted by Third-Party Services, and you consent to such processing in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Detection Dog University does not guarantee continued access to any Third-Party Services and reserves the right to remove or discontinue integration with third-party platforms at any time.
Article 17: Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Detection Dog University, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Company Parties”) shall not be liable for any:
Direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages,
Loss of revenue, profits, business, data, or opportunity,
Personal injury, property damage, or harm to animals,
arising out of or related to your use of the Services, including but not limited to programs, digital products, challenges, or online communities, even if the Company Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Detection Dog University to you in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services shall be limited to the amount you paid for the specific Service giving rise to the claim.
This limitation applies regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise.
Article 18: Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Detection Dog University, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
Your use of the Services, including participation in programs, communities, or challenges;
Your breach of any provision of these Terms, including misuse or unauthorised sharing of content;
Any action, injury, or damage caused by you or your dog(s) while using the Services;
Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights;
Any false or misleading information you provide to Detection Dog University.
This indemnification obligation survives termination or expiration of your access to the Services or any part of these Terms.
Article 19: Termination
Detection Dog University may, at its sole discretion, suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to all or any part of the Services, including programs, content, and communities, immediately and without prior notice if you:
Breach any provision of these Terms
Misuse, share, or distribute our intellectual property without authorisation
Provide false or misleading information
Engage in conduct that is illegal, unsafe, or harmful to other Users or their dogs
Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms immediately cease, and you must stop using and delete any downloaded materials.
Termination does not limit Detection Dog University’s right to pursue any other legal remedies, including injunctive relief or damages, nor does it relieve you of any obligations or liabilities accrued prior to termination, including payment obligations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, no refunds will be provided in the event of termination due to a breach of these Terms, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
Article 20: Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of your personal information as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
You consent to the processing of your personal information, including for purposes of:
Providing and administering the Services
Sending service-related communications and updates
Marketing communications where you have opted in
Facilitating participation in program communities, including third-party platforms (e.g., Facebook groups)
Compliance with legal obligations and protection against fraud or misuse
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive any claim against Detection Dog University arising from the manner in which your personal information is collected, used, or disclosed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Article 21: Changes to Services
Detection Dog University reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services, including programs, content, pricing, features, or access, at any time without prior notice.
Such modifications do not create any obligation to provide compensation, refunds, or replacement services, except where expressly required under applicable law.
You acknowledge and agree that Detection Dog University shall not be liable for any loss, damages, or inconvenience resulting from changes, interruptions, or discontinuation of any Services or features.
Article 22: Governing Law
These Terms and your use of the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services.
Nothing in this section prevents Detection Dog University from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in any jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property, proprietary rights, or confidential information.
Article 23: Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, unenforceable, or void under applicable law, such provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision, and the parties agree to replace any invalid or unenforceable provision with a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent and commercial purpose of the severed provision.
Article 24: Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any applicable Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, or other written agreements expressly referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Detection Dog University regarding the Services.
They supersede all prior agreements, representations, warranties, understandings, or communications, whether written, oral, electronic, or implied, relating to the subject matter of these Terms.
No oral or written statements, advertisements, or communications from our representatives, affiliates, or third parties shall modify or amend these Terms unless expressly incorporated in writing and signed by an authorised representative of Detection Dog University.
You acknowledge that in agreeing to these Terms, you have not relied on any representation, warranty, promise, or statement not expressly set out in these Terms, and that all rights and remedies not expressly granted herein are expressly excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
